A new member of the US Speedskating National Short Track Training Program, Eddy Alvarez is a young skater ready to make his mark. No stranger to international competition, Alvarez participated in the World Junior Short Track Championships in 2008 and 2009, bringing home a gold medal in the relay at the 2009 competition.
Alvarez enjoys a laid-back approach to life, taking things one day at a time. His older brother Nick, who played professional baseball for seven years, is a valuable example and inspiration to Alvarez.
